Your dream life

Remember the life you thought you’d live when you were younger? It’s still there…

I’m here to help you get that magic and optimism back for what your life that you had when you were a kid. Your life can and should look however you design it.

I help young professionals make side income, diversify their income streams, shift their mindset about what’s possible for them, and create personal brands that represent the best versions of themselves.

Are you ready to be done with things being fine and live that dream life you’ve maybe dismissed as unrealistic?

Quarter-life trap

I see in smart, ambitious young professionals in this stage of life all the time.

It’s not a quarter-life crisis, because things are far from bad. You don’t necessarily feel lost, totally broke, or extremely unhappy. Instead, you’re in the trap of comfort. You might have a decent job that you worked hard for, a good group of friends, you attend happy hours once on occassion, you earn enough to get by. Overall, things are… fine.

Now, there’s a lot to be grateful for when things are fine. Not everyone has a job, good friends, or an income. But we can be grateful for what we have while still wanting more than “fine”. If you’re anything like me, you want to replace fine with incredible, fantastic, and a dream come true.

This is where I can help!

Sound familiar? Let's work together!

I started this website while getting out of my own quarter-life trap. I was working at a corporate job that paid enough for me to live in Manhattan, had a healthy relationship, friends, and got to travel a couple of times a year. Things were definitely “fine”. I had recently been accepted into law school, which had been my plan for years. It would’ve been a fine career and though the debt would be hard, the salary would be nice. Things would’ve been fine.

Then, I looked at what I had dreamed my life would be like when I was younger.

Moving to New York was my childhood dream, and I had done that, but did I really dream of sitting in an office for 70+ hours a week, not experiencing the city at all, working for someone else, and with little time to travel?

I then started questioning why I wasn’t living more like I had dreamed now. Why wasn’t I traveling more? Why was living paycheck to paycheck? Why was I okay with having crazy student loans hanging over my head? Why was I waiting for my life to eventually get good, when I had the power to make it good now?

I was sick of waiting for my life to “start”, when that start wasn’t coming. I had to be the start.

Urban 20 Something

This website was born as I declined my law school acceptances in blind pursuit of that bigger life. I did not know what I was in for, but I was excited to figure it out.

Leah is the founder of Urban 20 Something.

For starters, I quit my corporate job and traveled to Southeast Asia for four months alone. Traveling alone, and in Southeast Asia, was something I had always pictured myself doing and was important to me. But during my quarter-life trap, it was something I had started to file away as unrealistic or unlikely to happen.

What you have you once dreamed of that you’ve dismissed as unlikely?

While traveling, I used this website and learned how to freelance in order to support myself. Learning how to make money in this way is one of the best things that has ever happened to me and I’m so grateful (even for the times I lived on fifty-cent fried rice!).

With the help of my developed branding skills, I was able to land my current job back in New York, which I love.

I still use my freelance work and this website as my side hustles and doing so has changed my life. I’ve been able to pay off my student loans faster, travel more, move into my dream apartment in Manhattan, meet some of the most inspirational people I could imagine, and most of all, I am living the life I dreamed that I would when I was younger.

What is your ultimate dream life? Where do you travel? What’s your job? What wakes you up in the morning? Who do you spend time with? What do you wear? Where do you live? What do you have?

… and why didn’t this all start like, yesterday??
